On Wednesday night the Masterton Squash Club hosted Round Three of the 92.2 More FM Premier Interclub. In the top of the table clash between Inspire Net Palmerston North Blue and Palmerston North Boys High School, Palmerston North Blue scored a 3/1 victory to cement their position at the top of the table. Convinicing 3/0 wins went to Palmerston North Blue's Josh Greenfield over Tom Nash, and in the doubles where Jason Burton-Brown and Geoff Spencer took out the previously unbeaten and favoured pair Grant Smith and Rob Brownrigg. Tyron Fourie put PNBHS on the board with a 3 nil win over Jarrad Boyle. In the match of the night Ben Murphy came back from 2 love down to defeat PNBHS's Jason Fletcher, and picked up the Player of the Night prize for his efforts.
Higgins Palmerston North Green took on Rangitikei resulting in a 3/1 victory to Palmerston North Green. 4 set wins in the doubles and to Blair Landers over Dylan Tasker and a 3 love win to Yeshan Ekanyake over Warren Mant secured the win for Palmerston North Green, while Tim Preston got Rangitikei on the board with a hard fought 5 set win over Glenn Carson.
The 3rd match of the night saw home team Sports Arena Masterton take on Harvey Round Motors Wanganui, with the Wanganui team running out the victors 3/1. Kent Darlington continued his solid return to form after injury to defeat Matt Spooner 3/0 while Ant Rountree scored a good win over the higher ranked Justin Brown. Wanganui's doubles pair of Ken Mair and John Rostenburg showed their doubles prowess to defeat Steve Gray and Malcolm Wyeth 3/1. Mike Stagg prevented a clean sweep by taking out Alan Dallas 3/0.
