The weather was cold and wet, but that didnʼt deter any of the young squash players from around the district who travelled to play in our local Junior Prince Series Tournament, on Sunday. There were 33 children who came to play from Wanganui, Palmerston, Taihape and Turangi, as well as players from our own club and Huntley School. They all had three games each. The standard of squash was very high and all of the parents were very impressed at the great games and the great spirit that was displayed by all players. Every player won a prize, and we would like to thank Westpac Bank for making this possible. An awesome day was had by all, players and supporters with many new juniors keen to carry on and play more tournaments throughout the district in the coming months. Who knows one of them may be the next Josh Greenfield or Shelly Kitchen.
