Master Players - Calling for expression of interest
Hello and welcome to the 2010 Central Masters squash scene.
Firstly, please note that the Central Masters tournament is to be held at Levin Squash Club on September 3 – 5th. It would be really good if we had good support for this tournament, as it has had to be cancelled in recent years due to lack of entries. The more entries we get the better the competition and more enjoyment for those participating. All players 35 years and over, and any grade, are welcome to compete. The National Masters are to be held at Kawaroa Park Squash Club over Labour weekend. Here is the prime opportunity for you to participate in a national event, while it is in our region.
The individual part of the tournament will begin on Friday, October 22nd (usually late afternoon), with the finals on Sunday 24th. The teams section of the tournament begins on Monday 25th and ends Wednesday 27th.
We are currently on the lookout for team members for the Master Rep team to play in the above event. We require five men and five women (plus reserves, if we can find some!) in the following age groups: 35 – 39; 40 – 44; 45 – 49; 50 – 54 and 55+.
We will be looking to get the top player from within our district in each of these age groups, so that we can enter a strong team this year and give the other districts a real challenge.
To register your interest in being considered for the 2010 Central Masters Rep team, please send a reply to this email before Friday, 6 August 2010. Once you have registered your interest, we will send you further information as we progress with plans and selection of players.
