Annaleise Faint Claims Two Titles at the Central Doubles

Junior Girl Annaleise Faint from SquashGym Palmerston North claimed 2 of the 3 titles up for grabs with her partners Jordan Bell also of SquashGym and Abbie Holmes from Hawera

The two day Central Doubles event was hosted on Stratfords two doubles courts with some impressively graded duos competing making for great competition.  The first final to take place was the mixed between SquashGyms Annaleise Faint and Jordan Bell and Whanganui's Matthew Ratcliffe and Ngakuira Osbourne, The two youngsters proved too skilled and took the final in an easy 3 sets.

The women's final proved to be more  of a battle going down to a very close 5 sets between a very experienced duo from Kawaroa Park of Tamsyn Leevey and Jacinta Harrison against the youngsters Abbie Holmes (Hawera) and Annaleise Faint (SquashGym) who both represented NZ in the New Zealand Secondary Schools winning team.  Holmes and Faint were able to isolate the ex commonwealth Games player Leevey to give her almost no balls and this lead to their win in the 5th set.

This left the men's final between SquashGym pairing of Allan Bailey and Jordan Bell against the defending champs and two time Mens title winners Matthew Ratcliffe  (Whanganui) and Stephen Bennett (SquashGym).  The crowd were all hoping for another nail-biter but it was not to be as Bennett and Ratcliffe dominated the court and took the title for a third time in 3 sets.
