Central Open Starts Tonight

Friday 31st July the Central Open hits the courts at Levin.  With a good sized field the event will be competed for over 3 days.  Whanganui Squash Clubs Kent Darlington will be defending the Men's Open title he won last year in Dannevirke where he played SquashGyms Jordan Bell in the final.

Bell also returns this year to round out an impressive 6 draw for the Men's Open containing 5 A graders.  The top seed Matt Nation (SquashGym) will be a tough obstacle Darlingtons who lost to Nation recently at the Taranaki Open final.

In the women's draw the title holder Jena Gregory (Eastern) is not competing so Ngakuira Osbourne takes the top seed spot followed closely by Hannah Grimmett from Kapiti, last years runner up Abbie Holmes of Hawera will be looking for a finals spot once again and Samantha Douglas from Thornton rounds out the Women's Open 4 draw.

Best of luck to all competing, head down to the courts if your around this weekend or tune into Facebook where we will try and stream the finals on Sunday between 12 - 2pm.
