Awards Nominations Open!

Nominations close on the 17th October so not long to go now!  Our Awards dinner is at Whanganui Squash Club on Saturday 4th December 2021 starting at 6pm.

The following categories are up for grabs and the awards time frame is between 1st October 2020 and 30 September 2021.  Our 3 judges base their decision solely on the nomination they receive.

Referee(s) - A Club or District Referee who has made a significant contribution to squash at a club and/or district level in the award period.

Women's Master Services or Player - Someone who has contributed as a player, an administrator, selector or manager within this period who is in the masters age group of 35+.

Men's Master Services or Player - Someone who has contributed as a player, an administrator, selector or manager within this period who is in the masters age group of 35+.

Personality of the Year - Someone who has made a significant contribution to squash in Central through their personality during the award period.

Coach of the Year - Open to all coaches from beginner to high performance for excellence.

Administrator of the Year - Significant contribution by a club/association administrator over the award period.

Team of the Year - A club or district team that has performed or achieved outstandingly at a club, district or national level within the award period.

District Club of the Year - A full member club within Central that has demonstrated excellence in some or all of the following areas:

  • Growth
  • Best Practice
  • Performance
  • Other achievement

Player of the Year - Open to all players male and female, junior, senior and masters who have performed or achieved outstandingly at club, district, national or international level during the award period.

Volunteer/Contributor to Squash - Any individual from a Central club that needs to be acknowledged for their contribution towards the betterment of “Squash”.

Examples:

  • A parent who takes a vanload of kids to all the Junior 1-dayers
  • A junior/senior player who consistently displays outstanding sportsmanship, fair play and/or support of other players by running drills/coaching sessions for lower graded players
  • The bar person who is there late every week, restocks, recycles and replenishes
  • The Club Captain that rallies all the members and gets them involved time and time again fostering great club spirit and competition.
