Central Juniors Retain Trophy

Sunday the 20th February a group of 20 Central Juniors took on Eastern at the annual One Dayer.  The event was hosted at SquashGym Palmerston North this year and each player had a morning and afternoon match.

Central have held the trophy for the past 3 years and proved too strong once again for our smaller neighbours taking the win 25 - 11 matches.  Parents and coaches were treated to some great games on display sadly though spectators were not encouraged due to number restrictions with COVID.  While the Eastern girls ranks were closer matched with Central taking the win by only 11 - 7 matches the boys were where we really extended the lead with a clear 14/4 win over Eastern.  Logan Terrill was a stand out performance on the day winning both of his matches and showing some massive improvement thanks to the hard work and dedication he has put into his squash while many others have enjoyed summer sports.

A big thank you to Eastern for travelling over, the day was enjoyed by all and thank you to to SquashGym, the coaches Melville Holmes and Tamsyn Leevey, all the parents and participants.

Central also challenges Wellington in a one dayer but this has been postponed by Wellington until later in the year.
